We would love to have your participation during our Aspiring Lawyers Pinning Ceremony on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 This event will take place at the end of the Closing Plenary Session which is set to begin at 5:45 P.M. and end at 7:00 P.M. During this session, pre-law students will hear inspirational speeches from current attorneys of color.  Thereafter, they will be asked to raise their hands and recite a special success pledge.  Then, all attorneys in attendance will be asked to come to the front of the room and simply shake hands with the students, wish them well by stating something like "We believe in you!" "We know you can do it!", and then "pin" them with a special "eagle" lapel pin as a symbol of their belief that if they work hard and make the necessary sacrifices, they too can join the ranks as law school graduates and attorneys of color.  This is the "highlight" of the event, a special way to end on a high note, and what has been stated by many as the most memorable part of the conference.  If time permits and students provide their information by the given deadline, pre-law participants will also receive Certificates of Participation.
