This course will provide a full overview of New York Labor Law, commonly referred to as the “Scaffold Law.”  We will discuss the legislative history and legislative attempts to reform the law, financial impact of Scaffold Law, and why construction costs in New York are often 10 times higher than in other states, learn how the Scaffold Law has impacted the market for liability and excess coverages for construction projects in New York, and identify both insurance and non-insurance risk management strategies producers can use to help their clients faced with Scaffold Law liability exposure.
