MBBA presents “I am A Solution: Education Advocacy Workshop & Panel Discussion and Bronx Community Law Day”

On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the MBBA will host an education advocacy workshop and panel discussion aimed at cultivating a more equitable public school education system, as well as a Community Law Day to help residents with their legal issues.

Specific topics to be addressed include 1) suspension rates for students of color 2) how to ensure that your special needs child receives the assistance he/she is entitled to and 3) NYC Department of Education policies. Furthermore, New York State Regent Nan Mead will lead a special workshop focused on educational policy initiatives under review by the New York State Board of Regents.

Confirmed speakers include: Nan Mead, New York State Board of Regents; and Joseph Rogers, Total Equity Now.
