"I Am A Solution" Town Hall Meeting & Legal Solutions Roundtable:
Please join us for our third “I am A Solution” Town Hall Meeting & Legal Solutions Roundtable: Queens Edition event. During the program, we will be discussing legal and legislative reforms to reduce the number of unarmed civilian deaths caused by law enforcement officers. As we enter 2017, many are concerned that the civil rights we have worked so hard to achieve will be rolled back – especially as they relate to the criminal justice system. At our next “I am A Solution” program, we will be reaching out to members of the Queens community to hear their stories, before pivoting to a reform-oriented discussion aimed at reducing the violence.
Date: Saturday, January 21, 2017
Time: 9:30am - 4:00pm
Location: C.W. Mixon Center 112-50 Springfield Boulevard, Queens Village, NY
Confirmed Speakers include: MBBA President Paula Edgar, MBBA President-Elect Jason Clark, New York City Councilman I. Daneek Miller, New York State Senator Leroy Comrie, New York State Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman, New York City Councilman Rory Lancman, NAACP Jamaica Branch President Leroy Gadsden, Civilian Complaint Review Board Director of Outreach Raniece Medley, Principal of the Law Offices of David Jeffries (and former Queens Assistant District Attorney) David Jeffries, and New York State Senator Leroy Comrie Chief of Staff Derrick Davis.
A special thank you to Councilman I. Daneek Miller for his assistance in organizing the Queens Edition of our "I Am A Solution" Town Hall Meeting & Legal Solutions Roundtable series.
