FREE Women's Self Defense Class
during Women's History Month
The MBBA is partnering with Martial Artist To Combat Hate (M.A.T.C.H.), a group of volunteer martial artists that seek to empower people and teach self defense in a safe inclusive environment. M.A.T.C.H. will teach situational awareness, de-escalation, effective striking tactics, ground fighting techniques, legalities of self-defense and combat, and post combative centering.
Given the uptick in hate, assault, harassment & vandalism stemming from racism, xenophobia, islamophobia & homophobia, M.A.T.C.H. seeks to mitigate the harmful impact on people.
The black belt instructors will be: Emily Kwok, Joel Burgess and Jay Marist.
There is a no shoe policy and gym clothes should be worn.
If you have any questions, please contact Kim M. Parker, MBBA Executive Director at executivedirector@mbbanyc.org
