Over the years, NYPD officers have come under public scrutiny with allegations of corruption, brutality, & excessive use of force, particularly in communities of color.
The NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) is the USA’s largest independent oversight agency of the largest police force in the country, the NYPD. As an impartial board, the CCRB is tasked with investigating, mediating, and prosecuting complaints of misconduct by law enforcement.
What does that mean for communities of color?
At this workshop, you will learn:
-How to make a complaint to report police misconduct.
-How complaints against NYPD are handled & resolved.
-What CCRB has jurisdiction over & what it does not.
THIS IS A MUST ATTEND FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!
