What Will The Post-Election Housing Crisis Look Like For Tenants In New York State

Thursday, November 12, 2020
6:00 - 8:00 PM

America has spoken. The election is over, and now we look to a new year with the possibility of an incumbent and new leaders in place, or a post-election contest-of-power that creates more uncertainty in already uncertain times. While the outcome of the election may not impact the tenant movement itself, it will certainly reveal how hard tenant advocates and community leaders will have to fight to realize their vision of tenant rights and protections.

Join us for a discussion with attorneys, tenant advocates, and community leaders as we reimagine landlord-tenant law in the midst of an unprecedented housing crisis.

Elected Officials:
Gale Brewer, Manhattan Borough President
Robert Jackson, NY State Senator

Panelists:
Jerome Frierson, Manhattan Legal Services
Adan Soltren, Legal Aid Society

Moderator:
Shakiva Pierre, Unified Court System
