Judge Bahaati Pitt has been appointed to Civil Court and assigned to Criminal Court by Mayor De Blasio in 2016. She served with the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division for seven years before becoming a Court Attorney in Family and Civil Court and Principal Law Clerk in Supreme Court, Bronx County.
She previously served as President of the Black Bar Association of Bronx County which recently merged with the MBBA; she was an Adjunct Professor with the Borough of Manhattan Community College; the former Chairperson of Board Development for the Legal Services, NYC-Bronx having served as a Board Member; the former Chairperson of Youth Services Committed for Bronx Community Board 10, where she currently maintains membership. Judge Pitt has served as a lecturer for Continuing Legal Education courses and has served as an Arbitrator in Bronx Small Claims Court. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a graduate of Morgan State University and received her J.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo.
