Zalika Pierre is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Ms. Pierre is an experienced litigator with a particular focus on defending financial institutions and corporations in all phases of consumer-based litigation in New York and New Jersey, state and federal courts.
Ms. Pierre is well-versed in litigating and arguing complex financial services litigation matters concerning lender liability, consumer fraud, and violations of federal and state consumer protection statutes and regulations, including the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
In addition, Ms. Pierre has represented a broad variety of corporate defendants in consumer class actions and complex litigation arising from alleged consumer privacy violations and allegations of data misuse.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Pierre focused her practice on defending some of the most prominent insurers and administrators of life, health, disability and annuity policies, in all forms of group and individual policy litigation. Ms. Pierre has experience defending insurers in disputes over policy coverage, lapsed policies and death benefit payments. Ms. Pierre also managed a nationwide portfolio of interpleader actions and litigation involving multistate slayer rules.
